Work permits in Thailand
Every foreigner working in Thailand, having a salary or not, should possess a valid work permit. There are few exceptions to this rule but they are rare. In 2008, there were minor modifications to the Working of Aliens Act. The old law was 30 years old. A good news is that a foreigner can now get a work permit for a period of 2 years. Your employer must sponsor your work permit applications and there are many documents and rules to follow. You have to apply to the Labour Department of the province where you will work.
