There is a new regulation since February 2016 and some foreigners are now eligible to get a Thai ID Card, but unlike Thai people which is blue, this one is pink.

It is delivered by the Tessaban of your locality (Khet in Bangkok). Please have a look at our text on this subject here:

What’s the benefit of this card? Can foreigners use it during they are in Thailand instead of passport? And can them bring only it to another district (Tessaban/Khet) without holding passport?

Yes, it can be used in many places (banks, hospitals, others) instead of passport. They can also, sometimes, give you Thai prices instead of “foreign prices”. It’s very convenient and useful.

Please help to detail more on how to use for and how to apply?

    • February 2, 2018

Please read carefully our article. We do not apply for clients. They must apply by themselves, at their local amphur or Tessaban, after obtaining their yellow ta bian baan.

Please read our text. It is clearly written that first, you need a yellow ta bian baan. You do that at the amphur or tessaban where you live. Then, you apply at the same place where they do Thai ID card for people. But you need the ta bian baan first.

Dear, I want to make pink card in Chiang Mai but I don’t have yellow tabian Baan. I am married with a thai woman since 1995 but I stayed in Thailand since 2013. I would like to know how to make this card and what I need to. When I tried to make yellow book they made a lot of difficulties to stop me in this way.
I am french and I need some help to understand what they really need.
    Thanks for your help.
